People who have seen our small luxury hotel often tell us, that we created something special, because we inherited the beauty of Kyoto’s culture. It was twenty years ago, when we started to think of a relaxing place for an ultimate stay in Japan’s former capital. Finally, in 2019 our splendid hotel was born in the dignified and serene atmosphere of the Higashiyama district.
As soon as you enter our magic realm a refreshing sensation will capture you – made possible by our love for details, tradition and style. Higashiyama Shikikaboku Hotel combines numerous carefully arranged elements: Furniture and ceramics representing cultural periods that go back hundreds of years – as well as art works by contemporary artists. A small garden reflecting the changing seasons adds to the serene atmosphere of our café. Or the clay walls built by applying ancient plastering technics. Everything is respectfully curated, lives up to time proven Japanese aesthetics. It is an homage to the essence of Kyoto that we created with the help of well-known architects and interior designers from our city.
And to indulge even more in the playful changes of the seasons, step up to our rooftop terrace. The view stretches far to Kyoto’s surrounding mountains.
